Siblingship Test (brother/sister)
Price: £299.00*
Testing: Two alleged siblings
Timeframe: 4 working days from receipt of swabs by
our laboratory
This DNA test determines the statistical probability of whether siblings (brothers and sisters) share the same two parents or not. The relationship between alleged siblings (full or half) can be established with 15% exclusion and 90% inclusion conclusivity.
When the issue of siblingship is in question, the recommended method to determine whether individuals are true biological siblings is to test their parents. In situations where the alleged parents are unavailable for testing, a siblingship DNA test can be performed to analyze the relationship of biological siblings. Including one common parent greatly increases the accuracy of this type of DNA analysis and is recommended if at all possible.

Y-STR Male Lineage DNA Test
Price: £299.00*
Testing: Two males
Timeframe: 4 working days from receipt of swabs by our laboratory
The Y-STR male lineage DNA test is used to determine whether two or more males are related through their paternal lineage. The Y chromosome is passed from father to son and has a relatively infrequent mutation rate, thus it remains the same through many generations.
This DNA test focuses on the Y chromosome and results in a unique Y-STR profile for each male tested. It is important to note that this DNA test will not differentiate between men that are in the same paternal lineage.
For example, if a male child "A" and his alleged half brother Child "B" (Child "B" having a different mother than Child "A") want to know if they have the same biological father, and they have the same Y-STR DNA profile, it is practically proven that they share the same father. If the profiles do not match, then they do not share the same biological father.
This is just one of many circumstances in which the Y-STR DNA test can be applied. Review the chart above as a guide. Please contact us for more information. |

Avuncular DNA Test (grandparent/aunt/uncle)
Price: £299.00*
Testing: Child and alleged grandparent/aunt/uncle
Timeframe: 4 working days from receipt of swabs by
our laboratory
This DNA test can be used to assess genes from the paternal side of the family, even when DNA from the alleged father is unavailable, by establishing a link between the DNA of a child and the DNA of an alleged grandparent, aunt or uncle. It is important to note that grandparents, aunts and uncles will have only one quarter of their genes in common with a child, whereas parents and children have half their genes in common. Because of this two-fold dilution of genes, the test cannot achieve as accurate results as a parent-offspring DNA test. Nonetheless, it will provide a numerical probability for the alleged familial relationship.

Cousin DNA Test
Price: £N/A*
Testing: Cousins
Timeframe: N/A
It is not possible to compare the DNA profiles of two individuals and reliably confirm if they are first cousins. Reputable DNA testing companies generally do not undertake first cousin analysis by testing just two people because the results are very likely to cloud the matter rather than clarify it. Please contact us for more information about alternative tests.
