International Biosciences Launch 24 Loci DNA Paternity and Maternity Testing

BRIGHTON, Sussex – 10 November 2014- International Biosciences launch 24 genetic locus multiplex for human identification applications, enabling the company to offer the most accurate paternity and maternity test results with results issued the next working day after receipt of samples.

The operations manager for International Biosciences notes the significance of the move from 16 to 24 loci for the company stating “it means we can almost eliminate any chance of having an inconclusive result and maximise accuracy. 24 locus testing is currently the gold standard in DNA testing. Most online DNA testing companies still offer 16 genetic marker testing but we have always strived to keep a step ahead in terms of the scientific edge to our tests and the customer experience we offer”.

Companies that provide 24 locus testing often also offer 16 locus testing but offer the 24 locus testing as an upgrade for an additional fee. International Biosciences’ 16 genetic marker profile for maternity and paternity testing is not obsolete but the company has introduced the 24 genetic locus tests as a standard analysis for these two tests. The change to 24 genetic loci is part of the company’s ongoing commitment towards offering the highest levels of testing. This added accuracy builds confidence and trust as clients can be certain that their results will be conclusive. Offering 24 loci as a standard is a point of competitive advantage allowing the company to generate more sales due to an increased consumer confidence in the service.

The operations manager sums up the company’s position by stating “We are giving our clients every possible reason to choose us: our extended 24 locus testing, accreditations, competitive pricing as well as our impeccable customer experience through which we have recently achieved an outstanding 5 star rating on the UK’s leading DNA test review site, DNATestingChoice”.

Asked whether other tests in the company’s broad portfolio can be carried out using 24 genetic markers, the company states that “we are currently working hand in hand with the laboratory to offer more of our tests using 24 genetic markers. The shift is not straightforward and the laboratory needs to introduce and streamline new systems and technology. However, we can confirm that in the near future most of our tests, including sibling testing, aunt/uncle testing and other relationship tests will be based on the analysis of 24 genetic markers.”

Regarding DNA testing accuracy, a laboratory spokesman states that “The technical accuracy of the PowerPlex Fusion Multiplex is guaranteed to be 99.99999% for inclusions and 100% for exclusions. With 16 marker profiles, the chances of an inconclusive result are considerably higher. To view a 24 loci sample report click here.
