Helping Hand Fund: DNA Testing for Social Causes

DNA testing is associated with a financial burden that sometimes prevents people from being able to acquire DNA tests to solve legal or social problems due to low income or financial hardship. It is for these cases that the Helping Hand Fund was created.

The Mission of the Fund

The Helping Hand Fund was created to help confirm paternity in child protection and similar social cases where DNA test results are very important and make a positive change in people’s lives but due to limited resources or financial hardship they cannot afford them. Such cases have been presented to us on numerous occasions when working with social organisations, charities and immigration services.

Social Responsibility: Discounted testing for people in need

In keeping with our commitment to social responsibility, we assist in social cases by offering DNA testing at significantly reduced prices in the following situations:

* Individuals (or organisation on their behalf) need the test and lack the financial means to order it;

* The test result can demonstrably improve the welfare of those involved.

Helping Hand Fund Application

If you need a DNA test to solve a legal or social problem but your finances are tight. Apply for help from the Helping Hand Fund or encourage others in need to apply.

Support is available to:

* Individuals: It is essential that you demonstrate your need for DNA testing and the positive impact the results will have. The recommendation of a social organisation will significantly strengthen your application.

* Social organisations: Local councils, local authorities, citizens’ advice bureaux, immigration advisers and charitable foundations can apply directly or recommend individuals for the programme.

Make your application

Contact us at info@ibdna.com indicating all detailed information about the case. Complete the form and answer all questions clearly and honestly. It is important to be able to verify your financial need (include any benefits or public assistance you are receiving) and the positive impact of the DNA test results on you and your family’s life. We may ask you for additional tests to verify your eligibility.

A social organisation can make the application on your behalf.

Selection of cases

Each application will be considered on the basis of the information provided and cases will be selected according to need and the number of discounted tests available (the number is limited). Our decision is final.

We will contact the social organisation dealing with your case to communicate the update of the application and the final decision.

If your application is accepted, we will proceed with the tests according to our usual procedures.

Final notes

We reserve the right to close the programme once all tests have been allocated or at any time we deem necessary.

The total number of discounted tests available is limited, but we encourage social organisations to submit multiple applications.
